Wheelchairs

$24,420

The funds will be used to purchase a container with 550 wheelchairs. The wheelchairs will be distributed for free to those physically handicaped that do not have other access to personal mobility.

The project benefits the individual not only with mobility but adds dignity and selfestem to their lives. The immediate family and community see benefits by allowing family members - care takers of the disabled, to return to school and/or work.

I was informed by Julia Clark the paper work is complete and has been forwarded to the trustees this week. We should receive a MG # within the next two weeks.

Approval for the project was received today. MG # for the project is 65931. Cash contributions must be sent to TRF using the MG number.
Agreement Form must be signed by Motijel and SB Sunrise.
Payee Information will be provided by SB Sunrise since the purchase of the wheelchair container will be made in USA.

TRF indicated that a transfer of $24,420 USD was made to the project account in California. As soon as the fourth of July weekend is over, we'll confirm the money indeed has been received.

This Rptary International Matching Grant has been approved and funded by Rotary International and the 550 wheelchairs have been purchased and delivered to Bangladesh. The Rotarians in Bangladesh are now in posession of the wheelchairs and in the process of distribution. After distribution the final report will be completed. E. Russell Smith
