Clean Drinking Water

$13,050

The aim of this project is to help nearly 20,000 primary school students drink water from clean stainless steel water fountains located at the corridors without using their hands, instead of the drinking by hands from tap water in the toilets.

The main idea of this project is to keep the harmful microorganisms away from the children and provide them a healthier education environment. Toilets are the most appropriate places for the harmful microorganisms to live. Unfortunately, in most of the state primary schools, students are drinking tap water from toilets by using their hands. Therefore, one or two stainless steel water fountains will be installed to 20 schools. Push-button system in the fountains will provide students to drink water without using directly their hands and the fountains will be placed on corridors instead of toilets so that the drinking water will be away from the toilets.

All the transportation, installation and labor will be provided by Rotarians and school workers. Also, all the complimentary equipment like pipes, gaskets etc. will be purchased by schools and the Rotary Club of Ankara.
