Healty Drink Water at Schools

$15,300

Didim/Turkey

Didim is a nice litte town at the Aegean Cost situated between Izmir and Bodrum in the province of Aydın.It's famous 'Altınkum' Beach, the Apollo Temple one of the best conserved excavations in Turkey and nearby located important ancient cities Milet and Priene, made it a demanded holiday resort. Didim has around 40.000 inhabitants. Didim's hallmark is the Head of the Medusa, which is to be seen at the Apollo Temple.

Every Year many Primary school children are getting sick, because they are drinking tap water from the toilets using their hands. Most of them are not wealthy enough to buy pet bottled water. Thereby microorganisms are transmitted to the children and causes diseases. To avoid microorganisms transmitted sicknesses and to change their habits to drink unsafe water, DİDİM Rotary Club decided to donate and to equip with drinking water fountains with special filtering system.

There are 6 State Primary Schools in Didim. As there are 2 or 3-stored we need to install 32 Water fountains in total. One stainless steel fountain with filtering system will coast USD 478.
