   Bolivia - La Paz/Pucarani

Ultrasound and Training

This project intends to purchase a lightweight durable ultrasound machine for use in 2 hospitals and many outlying rural clinics for the poor. Training would be provided on site by Drs. Dan and Linda Price, plus others from their team would stay for several weeks to work with the medical staff there. They would also provide follow-up by email.

First phase of the project is complete. All that remains is the preparation of an informational brochure. Payments have been distributed and data is being gathered for the final report which will be prepared after the informational brochure is done.

Final report accepted by TRF; closure letter sent on 6/10/11. Report and closure letter to be posted shortly. Recipients of this project reported to be quite pleased with the results; babies' and mothers' lives have been saved by prenatal screening and referral.
