Two Mechanical Cows

$18,050

Cuenca Tomebamba Rotary and Gualaceo Rotary in the Azuay Province of Ecuador, and four clubs in San Diego County, La Mesa, La Mesa Sunrise, El Cajon, and El Cajon Breakfast, will collaborate to provide two mechanical cows for school sites in the area. The two sites are in impoverished areas and serve approximately 1000 children who have severe nutritional deficiencies. The local NGO for the Cuenca Tomebamba Club will be Escuela Salesiana Padre Carlos Crespi, and for Gualaceo Rotary the NGO will be Centro Agricola Cantonal Gualaceo. Cuenca Tomebamba Rotary and La Mesa Rotary will act as the official Host and International Clubs, respectively. Both host clubs will oversee the progress at the school sites.

Soy beans grow abundantly in Ecuador so that the cost of the nutritious, protein-rich milk is about 15 cents a liter versus nearly a dollar for whole milk.

With proper nutrition these childred have a chance to be productive citizens and the future leaders of Ecuador.
