The Cândido Mota Parents and Friends of Mentally Handicapped Association - APAE is a philanthropic institution which assists mentally handicapped children, teenagers and adults for free. The Institution’s main goals are providing services in the Social Assistance, Health, Education and Leisure areas to the mentally handicapped people, including services of Psychology, Phonoaudiology, Physical Therapy, Hydrotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Services, Pedagogical Services, and Informatics. The institution assists 110 students a year, 61 in normal classes and 49 with technical team. Besides the services offered by the institution, the students participate in projects such as: horticulture, gardening, orchidology, culinary, singing, painting, choir, physical education and body expression. Considering that students have 3 meals a day in the institution, this project is for the acquisition of adequate kitchenware. The project will be finished in 60 days after receiving the grant.
