Project Description Country: Mexico Location: Ensenada Total Budget: $5,400 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Community Development: Construction/Renovation Summary: Ceiling fans, classroom lighting, and reading rugs for children in Ensenada, Mexico In 2023, the La Jolla Golden Triangle Rotary Club completed a painting project at a primary school in Ensenada. During the scouting trip, the teachers informed club members that they needed some additional resources for students, including ceiling fans in the classrooms to help cool the rooms during the hot months, improved classroom lighting, and rugs to provide a comfortable place for the children to sit on during reading time. The grant will fund the purchase and installation of ceiling fans, track lighting, and area rugs in each of the classrooms, which will be installed by club members and local tradesman during a club trip to complete additional painting and renovations.
