Summary: HISET Tests will be provided for Escondido students through COMPACT and assistance with diploma completion.
Escondido Education COMPACT is a community-based organization that has been serving Escondido's underserved youth for more than two decades. They assist with workforce development skills, secondary education, and post-secondary education. Through these programs they help the Escondido youth to stay out of gangs and ensure that they have access to the necessary materials and educational support to obtain a high school equivalency diploma. The HISET tests for high school equivalency cost between $65 and $175 depending on whether they are taken online or on paper. This grant will cover the cost of tests and applicable support services.
Club members can participate as mentors and tutors in the programs. There will also be opportunities to participate in joint service projects.
