Project Description Region: Africa Country: Ghana Location: Sunyani Total Budget: $30,500 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy This project aims to rehabilitate a Junior High School building at Presby B Basic School at Abesim, Sunyani. A rainstorm ripped off the roof of the building and destroyed textbooks, furniture and other teaching and learning materials. The damage affected the columns, doors and windows. The students had to be shared among the A stream resulting in overcrowding and congestion due to the increased class sizes. This is negatively affecting teaching and learning. The rehabilitation will restore the building and make it useful again. In addition, the project will provide textbooks and pedagogical training to the teachers to enhance their delivery. We plan to complete the project within three months when funded. We seek districts and clubs interested in the project to contribute funding to implement this project. The needs assessment has already been done and we are ready to write to complete the grant application.
